About Travinci

Travinci is an innovative startup and the trade name of Strabant B.V. We focus on developing and renting smart, hands-on safety solutions that increase safety within infrastructure. Our goal is to make road workers demonstrably safer while positively influencing the behaviour of road users.

Our solutions are developed in close cooperation with implementation practices and tested under realistic conditions on a variety of infrastructure projects.

What we do

Travinci offers a modular and scalable portfolio of security solutions, where products and services form one whole. Our solutions are always supported by active guidance, project alignment and operational deployment. The portfolio includes the Go-Barry, the ACWS traffic radar system, the WSV vehicle and an electric collision absorber. These products can be deployed separately or in smart combinations, depending on the project and the situation.

Travinci has deliberately chosen a rental model in which service provision is an integral part. As a result, our safety concepts are directly applicable in practice and we continuously gain experience within projects. This working method makes it possible to continuously optimise and further develop our products, services and combinations thereof, with practice as the starting point.

The Go-Barry as a core innovation

The Go-Barry originated from a concrete practical problem within large-scale infrastructure projects, where traditional barrier arrangements offered insufficient flexibility due to limited working hours and increasing traffic pressure. This led to the development of a dynamic, moving safety solution that increases safety without unnecessarily restricting traffic flow.

Meanwhile, 10 pilot projects have been carried out, including work on joint crossings, asphalt work and the installation of noise barriers. In these, the Go-Barry has been deployed both statically and moving along on national roads, A-roads and provincial roads. All pilots have shown that road workers behind the Go-Barry work more safely than with a traditional open barrier.

Proven effect on road user behaviour

In combination with the ACWS traffic radar system, the behaviour of road users was studied. Measurements show that road users are not startled by the movements of the Go-Barry and that no additional risky situations arise. In addition, it was measured that vehicles drive on average about 20 km/h slower next to the Go-Barry compared to an open barrier, providing a significant safety benefit for both road users and road workers.

Our role within infrastructure projects

Safety within infrastructure projects is a shared responsibility of executing parties, clients and public authorities. In practice, this requires careful application of measures according to the occupational hygiene strategy (AHS) and demonstrable choices within the safety process. Travinci positions itself here as a specialist link between contractor and client: an executive subcontractor that not only supplies safety measures, but actively applies, substantiates and guides them within the project.

Through our services, we support contractors in fulfilling their safety obligations and offer clients insight and verification that appropriate, effective measures have actually been deployed. In this way, we contribute to a transparent and demonstrable level of safety in the workplace.

International ambition and vision for the future

Although Travinci has its origins in the Netherlands, our solutions are developed with international applicability in mind. The challenges around road safety, restricted work windows and traffic flow are widely recognised across Europe. Meanwhile, there is concrete interest and contact with parties in Switzerland, Germany and Denmark, among others.

Travinci continues to invest in further product development, data-driven safety and the integration of smart systems. Thus, step by step, we are building a future-proof and scalable safety concept for infrastructure projects, at home and abroad.
