Go-Barry deployed for emergency repair on the A50 near Heteren
For an emergency repair to the joint crossing of the Rhine Bridge on the A50 near Heteren, Go-Barry was deployed in the nights of 28 and 29 July. The work had to be prepared and carried out in a short time and required the closure of lane 3.
Instead of performing the work behind solely cones and signs, a physical barrier was chosen with 150 meters of Go-Barry. The barrier was moved between the day and night situation during the execution, leaving two lanes of traffic available during the day.
An important sign from the implementation was the clear preference for physical shielding. Employees of the implementation team indicated that they no longer wanted to perform this type of reinforcement work behind only poles and signs. This project not only demonstrates the practical applicability of the Go-Barry for emergency work, but also the changing need from the implementation side for a physically protected working environment.
In short: even in urgent work situations, the Go-Barry shows that quick action can be taken and physical protection can be implemented.
