Go-Barry ensures safe joint works on Zuidas Dok<\/span><\/b><\/h2>\n

During the weekend of 20-22 February 2026, a special project took place on the A10 Zuid (outer ring, A10 left) in Amsterdam as part of the Zuidas Dok programme. In this busy traffic area, work was carried out on the expansion joints, while lanes 1 and 2 remained open to traffic. This meant working directly next to passing traffic \u2013 a situation that places high demands on safety and organisation.<\/p>\n

To elevate safety to a higher level, the decision was made to deploy the Go-Barry. With a total length of 174 metres (14 elements and 2 end pieces), this physical barrier provided a clear and robust separation between the work zone and traffic. Whereas traditional barriers such as cones and beacons increasingly lead to a feeling of insecurity, the Go-Barry, in contrast, offered peace of mind and protection for the people on the worksite.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

The choice for this solution stemmed from a clear challenge: how to ensure the safety of employees without a complete closure of the A10, which would lead to increased traffic pressure in the city? The Go-Barry proved to be the ideal compromise. The system made it possible to work safely while simultaneously maintaining traffic flow.<\/p>\n

Over the weekend, the Go-Barry was erected, deployed, and then neatly dismantled afterwards. During its execution, continuous monitoring of safety and progress took place, fulfilling the duty of care and adhering to the applicable guidelines. The project demonstrates that with the clever deployment of innovative resources, a safe working environment can be realised, even on one of the busiest motorways in the
