Go-Barry protects the works on the A10 South
For works on the A10 Zuid in Amsterdam, the decision was made to deploy the Go-Barry. On this busy motorway, where thousands of vehicles pass daily, increasing the safety of employees in the work zone was an important prerequisite.
The Go-Barry provides a physical barrier between traffic and the work, creating a safe working environment without the need for a full road closure. The system was chosen partly based on previous successful experiences on the A10, where the Go-Barry had already proven its value.
Over four deployment periods within a three-week timeframe, the Go-Barry was flexibly deployed across different project phases. Thanks to the system's mobility, work could be carried out safely and efficiently, while limiting the impact on traffic. Between deployments, the barrier was ‘parked’ on an asphalt strip next to the A10, and as soon as the next deployment began, it could be driven onto the A10 through a breakout point.
This successful deployment once again shows how the Go-Barry contributes to a safe workplace for road workers and better traffic flow for road users.
