The Go-Barry is a mobile, autonomous barrier system that enhances safety and efficiency in infrastructure projects. The system supports teams through detection, signalling, and flexible deployment on the work site. The Go-Barry is a so-called ‘Smart Moving Traffic Barrier’ for safe, dynamic, and intelligent (road) closures. The Go-Barry can move itself within the current form and guidelines of a vehicle-retaining barrier, making it possible to carry out work on public roads safely behind a barrier with minimal disruption.

Safe work zones are essential

Safe work zones are essential during roadworks. However, traditional traffic management often requires significant logistics: multiple transportations, movements, and manual placement. This consumes time and personnel, and increases exposure to risks. A mobile barrier that can be deployed quickly and easily moves with the work reduces transportation movements and ensures that road workers can operate safely at all times.

Flexible and dynamically deployable

The barrier consists of individual barrier elements of 12 metres that can be linked together to any length. Traditional barriers are static and have to be moved using large equipment. The remote-controlled Go-Barry can be safely driven to the right spot. The Go-Barry can also drive along during work and dynamically close and clear lanes.

The Go-Barry is a mobile, movable barrier that allows for the rapid creation of a safe working zone without heavy logistics or extra transport movements. Due to its compact design and ease of relocation, the Go-Barry moves easily with the daily progress of the work. By deploying the Go-Barry, work areas are shorter and less time is lost moving barriers. The biggest benefit, of course, is that we greatly increase the safety of both road workers and road users. This is because the Go-Barry makes it possible to carry out work that was previously carried out behind an open barrier (cones/guide beacons) behind a vehicle restraining barrier.
